Piyush Soni .

How much time do you spend looking for your stuff?πŸ€”πŸ€”

Many a time we all misplace our stuff such as phone, remote, or maybe car keys!

Isn't it?

The idea here is to make a stationary camera which would be positioned in your living-room/kitchen, possibly on the ceiling where it has a good field of view.πŸ€“πŸ€“

Whenever you look for an object, you can ask (vocally) "Where's my <object>"? And get a vocal response, such as "on the kitchen table", or "on the floor beneath the chair".

This can also be really helpful for people who have;

  • The Absent-mindedness
  • ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder)
  • Early-stage dementia

Also, it would be easy to find things if another person has moved without your knowledge.πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

Technical challenges could be small object size, difficulties of object detection, etc. but that could be taken care of!

What do you think, would such a product be desirable?πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Yeah cost would be high at least few hundred dollars! This would be an high end product!

Yeah thats what I was thinking!

Definitely a good idea but that will make people weak and lazy. And the people suffering from all the above problems that you have mentioned will never get cured even if they could be cured.

Piyush Soni

But as far as I know, dementia and ADHD have no cure. So people can definitely be benefited by this! what do you say?

Prasad Bharati

And one more thing desirable things are not always good. Due to modernisation and all the technology we already have lost our tremendous power. Creating such products will just weaken us more.

Piyush Soni

True, technology is not always the solution for everything, but it is helping certain number of people, then why not !

Prasad Bharati

Yaa but then the product should be limited to those people only. The building cost would surely be huge and ultimately the sp of the product would be high enough too as #deepaksingh bhaiya said. Do u think it would be profitable for the manufacturer to sell this product only to those limited people?

Siddharth Verma

Definitely a viable product specially for someone like me who forget stuff on daily basis.

A far easier implementation will be to use Low Energy BLE devices
