*For Restaurant/Cafe Owners*

If you think that,

Swiggy and Zomato are charging way High Commission from your Restaurant/Cafe than they should.

If you think that,

You already have a good consumers database and you don't need to pay such big charges,

This might be a better alternative tool for you.

Is this Bot based service on WhatsApp?

Vishal Vora

well, I m not much of a technical person, but yes I think so.

Amit Khandelwal

Vishal Vora

Jeet true.. Since online ordering has became a norm majority of restaurant can have a delivery guy full time covering their area easily. They can compensate few working guys inside and by automating few other things. Main challenge for the restaurantis delivery which they can handle and offload online ordering to someone like this. This way restaurant need not pay huge communion to two aggregators and also work on discounts on their norms

Vishal Vora

Absolutely True, If the cost of hiring a staff is lower than the commission paid every month, assuming sale stays intact irrespective of listing

This is good way to reduce huge variables costing.

Giri Thiyagarajan

Vishal I feel the key challenge will be to change the customers from zom sw to broeat but that can he done with heavy marketing I feel. Customers should be passed on some benefit from the reduced cost I.e in hotel eating and online ordered food shld have same cost other than addition of delivery charges.

Vishal Vora

well I think, this one might not become a big company, but I think this idea of decentralised delivery system with centralized ordering might spread, so may be we will have such ideas implemented on city and state level.

Giri Thiyagarajan

Yea right, another feature I can think of is allow users to pay and place an order and collect it himself. This help customers who don't want to wait at restaurants

Vishal Vora

Yes Pick up deliveries might work too.

Jeet Parekh

it isnt in most cases. Ask dominos they also use swiggy st times. Mcd too.

Jeet Parekh

pick up can work wonders.

Vishal Vora

That was true in Pre-Covid World,Right now Delivery is not niche, Safety is niche, and I have worked with thousands of restaurants and I know almost all restaurant and hotel owners in Ahmedabad. But I trust only few of the brands whileeating outside because I have visited all of their kitchen. So, if I order food online I would rather have it delivered by their well trained staff of the restaurant itself.rather than some random person selected by a computer algorithms, who God knows whether follows any rules seriously or not.

Jeet Parekh

i dont think people would want to start their own delivery network. It is not efficient, plus handling other things is a mess.

Thirdly i may not prefer calling or using auch service for every restarutn instead aggregator is fine.

Plus this margins will come down slowly.

Vishal Vora

that is the thing,

You think that people will just randomly look at the items and will order it from anywhere, they won't ! that time has changed,

Only hand full of restaurant brand that can eradict the fear and establish the trust will rule the market, people won't randomly choose the restaurant like they used, for most of the people it will be careful planning after considering many variables.

Yesterday I was having this conversation with the restaurant brand owner having 50+ branch, he said and I quote, "Vishal bhai, hum to pura dhyan rakhte he har cheez ka, lekin ye Swiggy wale chutiye, na to gloves pahente he na mask, aur wo hmare employees he nahi, to jyada ku6 bol bhi nai skti, abhi ek to 30-40% commission do aur Agar inlogo ki inefficiency ke karan naye case aye to gali to hum ko padegi, isse achha hum hi delivery krne ke lie employees rakh le, control to hoga hmara"

See ? this kind of problems are coming, which wasn't coming before.

You are talking from your personal point of view, I am talking from kind of problems that I am coming across on daily basis and years of experience in consulting 1000+ Restaurants/cafes/hotels/resorts

Nishant Sinha

This is issue that will not only limit to restaurant and cafe but groceries and vegetables as well as both swiggy and zomato have entered into that market

Vishal Vora

Dubai Restaurant industries have tried and tested similar tools, and it's seems successful there, lets see how Indian market reacts.

Nishant Sinha

ohkay well I am also having my startup in hyper local deliveries looking to scale up now😊

Vishal Vora

That's Great, may be you can make similar platform for your startup too

the problem for restaurants isn't delivery because if sales were to stay intact then they would've started in house delivery long back but what you're not taking into account is the discoverability factor.swiggy & zomato helps users to discover places+ offer some discount (incentivize) to place an order.

If I've to order from A,I'll order it irrespective of a bot/swiggy or restaurant app (many restaurants have it).I can always call them and place an order.

I wont order as much if swiggy & zomato stops tomorrow.

There are outlets I last visited or ordered from 3 years back but at 1 AM while I'm hungry, I see its open and delivering which makes me order food from that place. Its that extra revenue which these platforms offer food joints which has to be fought while building a new product.

What I've observed is that loyalists don't order food more than once or twice a week while swiggy/zomato users place an order or two in every one or two-three days from different places.

This discoverability is the only USP of such platforms which is now being exploited in terms of high commissions.

Vishal Vora

Do you think people will dare to randomly order from XYZ café or restaurant ? Without having any Kind of brand value or trust factors about the Hygiene of the place?

I buy closed restaurants with lock and key and sell their equipmentsand furniture , till today I have bought and sold more than 100 restaurant, and In almost 85 of them I have found dead or alive gang of mouses living freely in their kitchen? Now if they are this careless about the species that is very much alive, can be seen and can be caught, do you think overnight they will change to follow all the rules with minute details to eradicate a microscopic creatures that cant be seen with naked eyes or caught?

And one more thing, out of those 85, some of them were national and international brand, having 1000+ outlets, so those customer you think will randomly order from random places, they won't be able to order many times.
