Ever wanted to sell your failed MVP?

There are a lot of times when things don't go how they should be and your MVP might not come up as you expected it to be!

Have you ever wanted to sell these failed MVPs? This product idea depends on the same thought.

Can we make a platform where developers can sell their failed MVPs to other Entrepreneurs who may not be as technically inclined?πŸ€”πŸ€”

Where Entrepreneurs can browse other MVPs/prototypes to find something that comes close to their vision. Then they can purchase it.

This platform would allow developers and entrepreneurs to connect for paid customization so the MVP can better fit the certain Idea. This would also speed up the product release cycle significantly in some cases.🀩🀩

What are your thoughts on this idea? Will this product work?

PS. MVPs would be non-exclusive and can be bought by multiple customers!

True. What would be your expectations from this platform?

Mansoor Shaikh

I d look to find a failed MVP which can be put to use for my business. Also id like to find business opportunities to invest in.

Β Sell even before you have an MVP

Piyush Soni

I did'nt get that! Can you please elaborate?

Rahul Rajvanshi

one should start selling way before the first line of code is even written

Piyush Soni

That thing every entrepreneur does for his product. that's true. I am asking is his MVP gets failed what to do in that situation?

Rahul Rajvanshi

what does failed MVP mean ?

Piyush Soni

Failed means your product or the code did not work for you but can be used by others as an basis for their project!!

Rahul Rajvanshi

didn't work as it's not functional or is it not as good as expected ?

Piyush Soni

It was not good as expected. Results basically did not stood up to your expectations!!

Rahul Rajvanshi

still sell it. That was ought to happen. A product's improvement is an on going cycle you will never really reach perfection where you think you are ready to deploy in the market.
Search early adopters offer them a god father pricing if they stick and help the product improve

check flippa.com (You can sell anything there). Don't tell me that yours is different by building something for failed MVP. They are big and they will wait for you to do the experimentation and the cash burning. Then, they will start it as an additional category and will stomp you like the grasshopper you are. That's how this works. You are adding a category.

Piyush Soni

This idea is a little bit different from flippa. THis one is non exclusive as I mentioned. Developers can sell multiple times since the intent is to customize the code not sell it exclusively!

Jason Samuel

You can do the same in Flippa too. Much of them sold aren't exclusive.

Piyush Soni

Oh I thought flippa is the exclusive one. I would check that! Idea here basically what I wanted to convey is basically modifying the code or the MVP and then selling it rather then selling it directly. Direct option would also be there but main thing what I want to highlight is the customization part!

Jason Samuel

yeah. It's already available in Flippa:P

Piyush Soni

Ok fair enough. Any other important thing that you want to add or basically modify this platform? Your suggestions!!πŸ™‚πŸ™‚

Jason Samuel

Are you referring to the OP?

Piyush Soni

Yes I am referring to OP. Are there any flaws present there?

Jason Samuel

there aren't any flaws. It's just something that already exists and is a category that can be added anywhere. There is not much to scale and not much to see any money there.

Piyush Soni

I any ways you want to modify this platform?

Agni Chatterjee

I well a more vetted platform would be nice , currently you have no clue about the valuation. I know one such platform exists but that's in the range of 100k investment

Arokya Inian

Interesting but why only software, could be hard products too?

Piyush Soni

Yeah not only software, it can be done for any product!! Good suggestion!!πŸ™‚

Specifically what products are you talking about?

Arokya Inian

it would be of greater help to such startups considering the higher risk, lesser opportunities, tougher environment, they need a lot more support. As we can see, software alone is not going to cut it anymore for India, we have to play end2end. Could be any product, lets say something like WeConvert. I thought your post may heve been inspired by that.

Piyush Soni

Yes definately it can be implemented for any product!!πŸ’―πŸ’―
We are selling away our MVPs, so I think it will go well with every product.
