Since Spotify is a two-sided marketplace, it’s just not serving listeners but is also building paid tools and services for the creator community —artists, publishers, labels and podcasters.

Key Initiatives -

1) Spotify Analytics – Tools for labels and distributors.

2) Spotify for Artists – It allows artists to manage their profile, get deeper music & audience data, pitch their new music to playlists, highlight key songs and playlists with Artist Pick. (It has 500,000 monthly active artists.)

3) Sponsored Recommendations – Personalized reminder for users to stream an album based on their history. For labels and artists, this tool is an opportunity to reach the right audience at the right time in ways they can’t with other platforms. It’s a win-win.

4) Soundtrap and Soundbetter acquisition – Soundbetter is a music talent marketplace and Soundtrap is cloud based music and podcast recording studio.
