How do you stay happy after work hours?

I love working on my venture. It's going good as well, makes me a decent amount of money, and my customers are also happy with my offerings. This makes me happy!๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡

But, after work, it's simply Emptiness. I just wait for the next day. I try to maintain motivation and an 'OK' mood until then.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

I'd love to start a discussion so more people can relate to one another and try things that have worked for others!๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚

What's your environment like? And what do you do to stay happy after work?

Current lockdown times: Read, workout, cook, binge watch

Regular times: bike trips, hikes, photography in addition to above

And the absolute stress buster.. family and friends time, playing with my kids

Lockdown is certainly doing a number on the worldโ€™s mental health. For me:

Make sure to have a โ€œcommuteโ€ when Iโ€™m done working for the day. Just walk around the block.

Playing with my kid. This is the one positive of the whole lockdown. It would be a different experience if I just coming home at 9 PM like the old days. I will not go back to that.

Chit chat with wife. Watch a show.

Call the single friends who are struggling alone.

Then if I really am anxious and canโ€™t go to sleep - alprax, diazepam, etc do work.

I don't have a wife or a kid sadly! Can't do anything in that aspect๐Ÿ˜ข. But its good to hear that you are spending quality time with your family!

I work out in the evening. HIIT workouts give you endorphins rush and for next 1-2 hours I am naturally in a good mood. Harder the workout, better I feel afterwards.

I also tend to watch sitcoms during dinner time and little more afterwards. Laughingis the best medicine and stress reliever.

Third, I open Spotify and play my favorite tracks on super loud volume. Sing along while making dinner. Again a feel good activity.

These three things might not be your cup of tea. But I am sure there would be something that gives you adrenaline rush. Things that makes you feel alive. Hell! It can be more work as well. Good luck. Hope this helps:)

Also the emptiness or void you feel in your life. When you compare your life with others. You might not be doing that. But I am coming from experience. Everything changed when I stopped comparing my journey with others.

Its rightly said that founders live a lonely life! I'm 24 and single so it hits me bad but I guess you must be married? Why not spend time with kids? I guess it'll kill most of that low time.I try killing that time by spending it with my family.

Also spotify,workouts,netflix are temporary recovery methods! We can't solve the problem by running away from it,netflix is like a running away mechanism for me.I forget whats happening in the world when I'm binge watching and I binge watch a lot but I know its not a permanent solution.

After my working hours, I get on calls with friends or cousins- such a great stress buster for me. Find out what you enjoy and do that in the leisure time

Glad you asked.

Talk to your parents. Pamper them, cook or buy food they love. Take them for a drive or places they love to visit.

Get involved in your family, talk to your kids & learn the lingo they use, invest time/efforts to project yourself as a friend to kids & spouse.

Drop everything even if u loose million dollars and have at least dinner together with your family. Make it a story session.

The fancy words like hustling, trainings, creating goals and all other BS will ensure a sure shot pathetic life of robot .
