Trivago app for Riding apps!πŸš—πŸš—πŸοΈ

So the idea is fairly simple!

Basically to build an app that searches all the rider apps like Uber, bounce, Ola, etc at the same time and accepts the one with the CHEAPEST ride.😯😯

The idea here is to combine all these apps into one platform.

What do you think about this idea? Any thoughts or improvisations!πŸ‘€

Rajesh Garg

Ok! Yes this might be a problem! Can we do these for all the local riders such as yellow cabs, apple cabs. I mean depending on the cities!

Anubhav Agarwal

Neeraj Tiwari They do have open Apis, any one can source the Apis building a travel solution.

Rajesh Garg You can they have open Apis, I am building a single api for people like you where you can book hotels by hour, cab, bus and amenities as a service on one click.

Neeraj Tiwari

Anubhav Agarwal good. I was not aware of this.

aggregators work where there is problem of selecting from a plenty of choices. you will have at max 10 choices and 2 of them will share 90% of the market. everybody will hail the idea as wonderful but imo you would struggle with scale and also you have to find a differemt way to monetize ( i don't think you would find enough people wanting to pay for the idea you have mentioned)

One idea would be to package it differently:-)like an end-to-end solution.

Vishnu Goyal

Doubtful they would give you api access, just like MakeMyTrip doesn't give to trivago

Rajesh Garg

Might be! Is there any other way to establish this? May be local rider apps or something?

Dheeraj Santosh Kollipara

Tapzo already did this, 2 years ago. One of my favourite apps, but it shutdown sadly.

Jagad Ish

Dheeraj Santosh Kollipara True that Tapzo was shutdown soon after amazon pay acquired it

Rajesh Garg

Dheeraj Santosh Kollipara Tapzo I think consisted of all the apps, not specifically for travelling, am I correct?

Dheeraj Santosh Kollipara

This specific feature was one of their USP

Rajesh Garg and I used it mostly for that purpose. One of the very few prime memberships I've submitted to, being an ad guy, bit's hard to convince me to buy things haha xD

Rajesh Garg

Dheeraj Santosh Kollipara Do you see any scope of such an app in recent times?

Dheeraj Santosh Kollipara

Rajesh Garg I don't live in the cities anymore, so I can't comment πŸ˜…

Google maps shows travel options and indicative pricing right?

Aayush Arora

Sidharth Rath yes

Rajesh Garg

Sidharth Rath Pricing as well?

Sidharth Rath

Yup. And I think google takes a commission. I mean, they simply can. 😎

Anand Soni

I use Google maps for that.

Rajesh Garg

Anand Yes, good approach but don't you think having an app would reduce the multiple checks! I madeΰ₯€ You don't have to check every app and then google maps! Just one click and you are good to go!

Anand Soni

I tried to make something like that but uber has bought has many complexity in that.

Was about to be launched but Uber doesn't approved us, and later they changed there policy for APIs.

Rajesh Garg

Anand Soni Did you tried it with local players?

Anand Soni

Nop. It's about 2-3 years back. I am talking about.

Now Startups are all about becoming an Aggregator it seems. Innovation thoda off so ho gaya h aisa lagta h πŸ˜…

used one such app in 2017 in Bengaluru, can’t recollect the name

Prateeka Kamath

Love it, please do it! I'll be a customer undoubtedly.

Zapplon

It's called taxi aggrivator, I used to work for similar concept company, like 5 years ago. But this model failed, not genrated enough revenue, that the company pivoted

The main, problem here is that uber will not give you an api to check the pricing, back in 2014. I guess they gave it to google maps, or it might be open now. Not sure
